We kicked off October with country music, happy feet, and a wonderful group of dancers! From first-time beginners to familiar faces, everyone helped make our first Sunday-night class of the month a fun evening of learning, laughter, and friendship. ❤️👢

A warm welcome to the new dancers who joined us! Learning steps, finding your rhythm, and remembering which direction to turn takes practice. We loved seeing everyone give it a try, ask questions, and keep dancing. 🤗

Thank you to our returning dancers for sharing the floor, offering encouragement, and helping newcomers feel welcome. That friendly spirit is a big part of what makes our Sunday-night dance family special! ❤️

Throughout the hour, Shawn helped dancers practice basic footwork, weight changes, timing, and turns. Each song gave everyone another chance to connect the steps and feel a little more comfortable moving around all four walls. 👢👏

Some routines felt familiar; others took a few extra walk-throughs. Every attempt counts! Keep practicing, enjoy the music, and celebrate those moments when the steps start coming together. 😄❤️

What a terrific way to finish September! Tuesday night brought another wonderful group of dancers together for an evening filled with Pattern Partner dancing, line-dance lessons, new choreography, familiar favorites, and plenty of open-request fun. ❤️🎶

We were especially happy to welcome more new couples and line dancers to the floor! Our returning dancers did a wonderful job answering questions, offering encouragement, and helping everyone feel comfortable and included in our Tuesday-night dance family. 🤗

The evening featured two exciting new teaches—Going Blonde 4-2 during the Pattern Partner lesson and Tango with Texx during the line-dance lesson—along with several recent favorites that continued to look smoother and more confident with every review!

Shawn and Kevin introduced Going Blonde 4-2, a fun and upbeat Beginner Pattern Partner dance that begins in Sweetheart Position and uses the same footwork for both partners.

They worked through the choreography section by section, helping everyone become comfortable with the footwork, turns, hand changes, positioning, and movement around the circle.

The catchy music and enjoyable pattern made this a fun new addition to our Tuesday-night lineup. Everyone did a terrific job staying together, helping their partners, and becoming more confident with each trip around the floor! 💃🕺👏

The River Waltz returned for its first review after being introduced the previous Tuesday.

Its gentle rhythm, flowing movement, and one-wall format gave everyone another opportunity to become comfortable with waltz timing and the dance’s smooth traveling pattern.

One of the special things about The River Waltz is its versatility—it can be enjoyed individually as a line dance or danced together with a partner. Whether dancing alone or as a couple, everyone looked more relaxed and confident during this week’s review! 💃🕺🎶

💃 LINE-DANCE LESSONS 🕺

The line-dance portion offered plenty of variety, moving from dramatic tango styling to upbeat country personality and lively rock ’n’ roll energy!

Tango with Texx was the evening’s featured new line-dance teach!

This exciting dance combines dramatic tango styling, a strong rhythm, and enjoyable choreography that gives dancers plenty of opportunities to add their own personality and flair.

Shawn broke down the steps, turns, direction changes, and two restarts before everyone put the dance together with the music. The class stayed focused, worked through each section, and had a great time discovering the character of this fun new routine. 🌹💃👏

2️⃣ Lord Willing (L) — Review! 🙏🤠

Lord Willing returned for another energetic review!

This upbeat dance combines a strong country rhythm, creative choreography, optional lyric-matching arm movements, and plenty of opportunities to add personal style.

Shawn reviewed the arm options that accompany the lyric, “Mine, Lord willing, and the river gon’ rise.”

🙏 During “Mine, Lord willing,” the fingertips meet near the center of the chest and move outward toward the shoulders.

🌊 During “River gon’ rise,” the hands begin beside the hips and rise into a V—as high as each dancer’s mobility comfortably allows.

Dancers can also interpret the lyrics with praying hands, a playful twerk, or any other movement their imagination inspires! That freedom to add personality brought plenty of laughter and smiles to the floor. 😄👏

The dance also includes two special eight-count repeats:

⭐ At the end of Wall 7, facing 9:00, repeat Counts 17–24 and restart the dance.

⭐ At the end of Wall 12, facing 12:00, repeat Counts 17–24 to finish.

Everyone did a terrific job combining the footwork, musical interpretation, arm options, and special repeats. The dance continues to look more natural and confident every time we bring it back! 💃🕺🎶

3️⃣ Little Miss Rock-a-Round (L) — Review! 🎸🔥

Little Miss Rock-a-Round brought lively rock ’n’ roll energy and an extra challenge to the lesson hour!

Its energetic footwork, quick transitions, direction changes, and faster tempo kept everyone thinking and moving. Each review helps the individual sections feel smoother—and once the steps begin matching the music, this dance is a whole lot of fun! 🎸💃🕺

🎶 OPEN-REQUEST HOUR

After the lessons wrapped up, the dance floor opened for requests, additional practice, and familiar favorites!

Some dancers practiced the evening’s new teaches and reviews again, while others requested dances they had been looking forward to enjoying. Our Intermediate dancers even had another opportunity to bring Fever Dream back to the floor! ❤️‍🔥🎶

The final hour gave everyone time to relax, socialize, help one another, and enjoy even more dancing.

Tuesday nights are about much more than counts, steps, turns, and restarts. They are about welcoming new dancers, supporting one another, building confidence, strengthening friendships, and creating memories with the wonderful people dancing has brought into our lives. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it another terrific evening! Whether you were learning a brand-new dance, reviewing a recent favorite, helping another dancer with a step, or simply enjoying the music and friendships, you helped make Tuesday night special.
