Finding a missing person quickly can make all the difference. Shawnee Fire Department crews trained on wide area search techniques used to locate missing persons.

Residents can help emergency responders find them faster by downloading the free What3Words app, which provides a precise location using just three words. Learn more and be prepared before an emergency happens.

Our Technical Rescue Team is participating in shift-based training focused on missing person searches. Training includes UAV (drone) deployment, What3Words integration for accurate geolocation, and coordinated wide-area search tactics. These capabilities increase operational readiness and enhance our ability to locate subjects in remote or challenging environments.

We thank our Community Support Team volunteers for their participation and assistance during this training.

We held a Badge Pinning Ceremony this afternoon at Fire Administration to celebrate the promotion of three members of the Shawnee Fire Department.
