Our building will be closed tomorrow - Friday, June 19 - in observance of Juneteenth.

Juneteeth marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865 to ensure that all enslaved people be freed. The troops’ arrival came 2.5 years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States.

Even when our building is closed, you can always access our online resources, download eBooks, stream movies, register for programs, & more through emmaclark.org. 😊

📰 ➡️ 💻 Phase 1 of the Three Village Herald digitization project is now complete! 🎉

Thanks to this historic preservation project, spearheaded by Librarian Jeff Walden, anyone can now view the Three Village Herald newspapers from 1954–1982 on the New York State Historic Newspapers site.

We are so grateful to the Times Beacon Record newspapers for granting us permission to digitize the newspaper - preserving our history and making it more accessible to all! We truly appreciate the wonderful article and feature in this past week's Village Times Herald newspaper.

Special thank you to the Long Island Library Resources Council for the digitization grant to partially fund this project and to the Northern New York Library Network for scanning and uploading all of the microfilm.
