On Saturday June 20th at 10:00 AM we will be conducting a walk through of our new garden at Carrie Blake Park. From conception to the final installation, we will discuss how we did it. We also will have horticulturalist Ann Prentiss, a new volunteer to the garden, on hand to showcase a few of the native plants we have planted. Ann specializes in native gardens and she has a wealth of knowledge to share. So, come and check it out and see what’s possible to create in your garden! 🌻🌼🌺🌸

Here's A Look At What's Blooming Now!
The Pink and Yellow Roses are in full bloom. The fragrance is amazing as you walk the stairs between the levels.
I saw that the first Dahlia has opened. There will be many more blooming in the coming weeks. It will be an impressive sight to see.
The Ice Plant is gorgeous.
A Sparrow was sitting on the arbor enjoying the honeysuckle.
The terrace that was planted last year is in almost full bloom and looks spectacular.
If you can visit in person I encourage you to do so often. If that isn't an option stay tuned right here and enjoy the beauty from the comfort of your home.
The gardens are maintained by an all volunteer crew. New volunteers are always welcome. Work party information is posted on this page.

Attention all volunteers! The sun will be shining on Thursday June 11 for a much needed work party to accomplish a few things in the garden. Mainly deadheading and pulling some w**ds will help with the beautification of our community garden. Easy tasks that anyone can do. It would be terrific if we could get some new volunteers to lend a hand this Thursday from 10:00-12:00 at the terrace garden at Carrie Blake Park. If you have ever considered helping…now is the time! Bring gloves, clippers (we can also supply you with clippers!) and water and join us for a joyful morning in our fantastic garden! See you there!🌼🌺🌸🌻

Here's A Look At What's Blooming Now!
If you have followed this page for very long you know that the volunteer photographer (me) has a thing for flowers and raindrops. With the overnight rains Monday night I knew it was time to go and take a stroll through with my camera.
The gardens are popping with Iris in a wide variety of beautiful colors. The Peonies are coming on strong now with new blooms opening every day. Some of the Roses are opening up too.
If you can visit in person I encourage you to do so often. If that isn't an option stay tuned right here and enjoy the beauty from the comfort of your home.

Peony season is almost in full bloom! We have an excellent collection of peonies in the Sequim Botanical Garden. We will be hosting a Peony Informational Workshop to explain some of the nuances of these beauties and tips to help you to grow them in your own garden. Saturday, May 23 at 10:00 AM we will gather in the garden to discuss the important growing issues and viewing the fabulous peonies in bloom. Also, the irises are in full bloom as well…so the garden is a blaze in color….so come to the garden and check it out! We would love to share it with you! 🌺🌸🌼

New to the garden this year are the giant Globemaster Alliums. Standing tall in the middle bottom tier, they are the largest purple balls on a single stem. Each ball has hundreds of tiny purple florets. Every family has its beauties. And yes, these are the best-looking members of the family of Allium, which includes onions, leeks and chives. (The word, Allium, means 'onion' in Latin.) When the blooms fade they remain on the stem and look like a starburst.

Attention all volunteers! We will be having 2 work parties this week as there is a lot to do! First one…Thursday, May 14 from 10:00-12:00. We need to continue deadheading the bulb plants, spreading out another dose of Sluggo, and digging out the phlox and repotting to eliminate it from the garden and offer up to the public for donations. On Saturday, May 16 from 10:00-12:00 we will be spreading some fancy mulch in the new garden for a natural look and for moisture and w**d control. We will also be placing a few smaller rocks amongst the new garden to further create a natural landscape. And there is also the ever present w**ding. The goal is to mulch all of the gardens (except the lavender and possibly the dahlias) to retain moisture and prevent w**ds. This will take some time and effort, but will help with our labor in the garden tremendously. If you can make one or both dates, that would be great! The garden is looking wonderful thanks to everyone’s hard work. 🌺🌸🪻🌻🌷👏👏
