Sequim Serger Squad

Thanks to the generosity and hard work of so many, “our cup runneth over” with blankets! We are taking a break from sewing the next few months until we can distribute what we’ve made before buying more supplies and fabric. Thank you all!

Hey friends! Our Serger “Sweat Shop” will be meeting again this coming Monday, the 6th at 1pm at Dungeness Valley Lutheran Chirch in Sequim to serge blankies for kiddos. Bring your serger, but if you don’t have one, no worries we’ll put you to work helping us cut. We got lots of new flannels over the holiday, due to generous donations, so we’ll have plenty to do. Friends, due to the holiday(s), traveling and that everyone’s just a wee bit tired, we decided last month not to meet in January but to resume our work in February. Hey friends! It's that time of the month again when we gather with our sergers to make cute blankies for those less fortunate! Please join us with your serger, thread and rotary cutter for a fun time giving to those in need at Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church at 925 N. Sequim Ave at 1 PM. Tomorrow we'll be working on flannel, two sided blankies to ship out hither and yon. And if you DON'T have a serger, please come anyway, as we'll put you to work on our cutting crew and give you a great cup of Rainshadow coffee!

Please join us to sew today, Monday, at 1 pm at Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church! Bring your serger or just yourself and we’ll put you to work cutting!

Todays the day to come help us turn this fabric into warm blankies for kiddos, both here and around the world! Join us from 1-4 PM today at Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church, 925 N. Sequim Ave, Sequim. Bring: 1) your serger, (we can help you offload/load), 2) thread, 3) spare needles, 4) a spare rotary cutter (only if you have one, we have some) 5) Your enthusiasm to help others!

We are getting many donations from community members for our project! I think we’re at THREE sergers and a gazillion yards of polarfleece and flannel (that’s the only type of fabrics we can use right now).
Yesterday I was blown away by a very kind woman who brought us “Angel gowns” for stillborns to be sent home in from recycled bridal gowns and we intend to do more of these in the future. What a community! Please join us to serge next Monday, the 1st, 1-4 pm at Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church, 925 N. Sequim Ave, we’ll have the coffee pot on!!
