Mrs. Dyer writes,

“Hi! I'm Shannon Dyer, and I am so grateful to become a part of the Semmes Elementary family as a Second Grade teacher! I earned my Bachelor's degree from The University of West Florida in 2007, and I have worked in different capacities within education for the past nineteen years. Most recently, I've had the privilege of teaching Kindergarten and First Grade. My family and I proudly call Semmes home and we love our community! My husband, Ben, is a high school teacher and coach, and we have two daughters, Lydia (15) and Margot (10). I love all things Disney and like to recharge by relaxing in nature! I am excited to create a safe, caring and nurturing environment for my students where they can explore, learn and grow. This school year is going to be a great one, and I look forward to meeting everyone!”

Mrs. Galloway shares,
"I’ve been teaching in Mobile County for 22 years, and 16 of those have been with the PACE program, which has honestly been one of the most fun and rewarding parts of my life. I love helping kids “exercise their brains,” think creatively, and realize just how capable they are. My husband, Bubba, and I have been married for 20 years, and he’s my best friend. He’s a local real estate agent with RE/MAX Partners, so between the two of us, we spend a lot of time helping families in one way or another! We have a fun-loving 13-year-old son named Eli and the sweetest Golden Retriever, Charlie, who keeps us laughing. When we’re not busy with school or work you can usually find us on the boat, grilling out with friends and family, traveling, or sneaking in a round of golf."

Today we celebrate an incredible educator, leader, and friend as we honor the retirement of Mrs. Stevenson!

For the past 12 years, Mrs. Stevenson has poured her heart into serving the students of Semmes Elementary School as our PACE teacher. Before coming to Semmes, she spent 8 years teaching 5th grade at Allentown Elementary School and 6 years at Ella Grant Elementary School teaching both 1st and 4th grade.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Stevenson has impacted countless students with her kindness, encouragement, and dedication. She is adored by her students and respected by her coworkers, serving faithfully on our leadership team for many years and guiding our Student Council with enthusiasm and care.

Her influence on our school community will be felt for years to come, and while we will miss her greatly, we are so excited for this next chapter of life filled with travel, adventure, and well-deserved relaxation.

Thank you, Mrs. Stevenson, for the love and commitment you have given to generations of students. Congratulations on your retirement — you have truly made a difference! ❤️🎉✈️

We have had immense fun celebrating student success around SES! This past week, there have been silly string wars, lots of teacher pies made, and tattooing of teachers, but making Mrs. Fetner a human ice cream sundae was the cherry on top! 🍒🍨 Our students and teachers have worked so hard this entire year and it shows!

Today is Speech Language Pathologist Appreciation Day and we have the best of the best! Mrs. Garner is dedicated to her craft and brings joy to everyone around her. She serves her students with energy, patience, and compassion. Mrs. Garner also plays a big role in supporting the teachers and organizing fun things for the school- like our Masked Singer event! Thank you Mrs. Garner for all the things you do! 💬💛
