Do Tires Die of Old Age? Did you know there is a date code on your tires that tells you the week and year they were made? If you have a car you don't drive often, check that date code and if the tires are 6 years old and your car is parked outside much of the time, you could have cracking in the sidewalls that could cause a blowout. By 10 years old, even tires that are usually in the garage should really be replaced regardless of mileage or remaining tread. Rainy Season is Coming! It's been a long time, but we know the heavy rains are coming soon.... is your car ready? Your tires are the only thing keeping you in control, and in heavy rain, your car can "float" up on top of the standing water. Hydroplaning is both scary and dangerous.
