What a great Launch Beyond meeting last night!

Our session, Brick + Mortar Basics: What Every Entrepreneur Should Know, was packed with valuable information on zoning, permitting, leases, and knowing what to bring to the table when you are preparing to open, grow, or expand your business.

A huge thank you to all of our panelists and presenters who shared their time, knowledge, and experience with our entrepreneurs and small business owners.

We also want to thank our sponsors for helping make these opportunities possible:
Confidence Financial Group
Kehoe Insurance
McGough Construction

We are so grateful to have resources like this right here in Johnston County.

And on a personal note, it was also my birthday, and they surprised me by singing Happy Birthday and giving me the most beautiful pink roses. What a sweet and special way to end my birthday!

Next up: Message or Money: Turning Words into Wins with Matt Gorman! This will be another great opportunity to learn, connect, and grow.

Everyone is welcome to register and join us. Come be part of what is happening in Johnston County!

I took a little time for myself and experienced compression therapy at Frost & Frye in Benson. I may have looked like the Michelin Man while I was hooked up to those compression boots and sleeve’s,but sometimes healing isn't glamorous. Sometimes it looks a little funny, feels a little uncomfortable, and ends up being exactly what your mind and body needed." 💖

As I sat there, I couldn't help but think about how much stress, tension, worry, and negative self-talk we carry around every day. We hold it in our minds, our hearts, and even our bodies. As the compression therapy worked to improve circulation, reduce inflammation, support recovery, and help move fluids through the body, I focused on something else: letting go.

With every deep breath, I released stress.
With every moment of stillness, I quieted the noise.
With every cycle of compression, I reminded myself that healing requires movement not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too.

At Showing My Roots, we talk a lot about growth, mindset, and becoming the best version of ourselves. But growth isn't always about doing more. Sometimes it's about slowing down, breathing deeper, and giving yourself permission to rest and recharge.

Your mind and body are connected. When one struggles, the other feels it. That's why self-care isn't a luxury; it's part of the work. It's how we show up stronger for our families, our businesses, our communities, and ourselves.

So here's your reminder today:

✨ Release what no longer serves you.
✨ Take care of your body.
✨ Protect your peace.
✨ Give yourself grace.
✨ Remember that you can't pour from an empty cup.

Stop wearing exhaustion like a badge of honor. Rest. Recharge. Heal. The roots of your success depend on how well you take care of yourself.

Keep growing. Keep healing. Keep showing up for YOU.

🌱💕

As we gear up for the end of another cohort, I'm reminded of just how powerful the entrepreneurial journey can be when people are willing to learn, share, and grow together.

One of my favorite parts has been the Discovery Canvas discussions.

Watching participants openly share their ideas, challenges, experiences, and wins creates an environment where real learning happens. Those conversations spark new perspectives, meaningful connections, and opportunities that might never have happened otherwise.

Networking isn't just about exchanging business cards. It is about building relationships, learning from one another, and challenging ourselves to think differently. That's why mindset matters so much. Skills can be taught, but a growth mindset opens the door to possibilities, innovation, and resilience.

The willingness to step outside your comfort zone, be vulnerable, ask questions, and support others is what makes these cohorts so special. I'm proud of every participant who has shown up, leaned in, and embraced the process.

Keep growing. Keep learning. Keep believing in what's possible.

Watching the high-fives, the sharing of ideas, the encouragement, and most importantly, the mindset shifts taking place has been absolutely amazing. There is something powerful about seeing people begin to recognize opportunities, challenge limiting beliefs, and step into new possibilities.

Every conversation, breakthrough, and moment of growth reminds me why I love what I do. The energy in the room is contagious, and the future is bright for these incredible individuals.
Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep believing in what's possible. 🩷

"Got my mammogram Friday and I'm here to remind YOU that you are no good for anyone unless you love and take care of yourself first. 🩷

Real talk, this is your sign. Schedule the appointment. Show up for yourself. Sometimes self care is the hard stuff, the appointments we keep putting off.

I'm proud of myself today, and I want to cheer YOU on too. Who else is overdue? Let's hold each other accountable and drop a 🩷 if you've got yours scheduled or you're booking it TODAY!

Launch Beyond had an outstanding class last month at the JCC Main Campus in Smithfield focused on cybersecurity for entrepreneurs.

Our April session, “Lock It Down: Cybersecurity Made Simple for Entrepreneurs,” featured presenters Bob Hildebrand and Crystal Pitts, who provided a wealth of knowledge and practical insights on protecting business data and securing digital workspaces.

The goal of this workshop was to give small business owners accessible tools and strategies to improve online security and better protect their businesses in an increasingly digital world.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion. We appreciate the continued support of our entrepreneurial community and our partnership with Johnston Community College.

A special thank you to our sponsors for helping make events like this possible:

• Confidence Financial Group
• Kehoe Insurance
• McGough Construction

Another great week of IDEA TO IMPACT: The Entrepreneurial Mindset for Success!

Coach Fred and I are beyond excited watching this group step outside their comfort zones and truly embrace the mindset of growth. One of the biggest breakthroughs so far?

People are becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable — and that’s where transformation begins!

Our entrepreneurs are already knocking out their 30-second elevator speeches with confidence and purpose while diving into:

✨ Lesson 1: The Power to Choose
✨ Lesson 2: Recognizing Opportunities

The conversations, the courage, and the willingness to grow have been inspiring to witness. We can’t wait to hear more of their thoughts, ideas, and dreams as they continue this journey.

Success starts with mindset, action, and the
willingness to stretch beyond fear. Proud of every person showing up and doing the work!
