Preparing for another round of cloning and hopefully a higher success rate this time. Although the clones that survived last time are thriving 👍

Also loading up seed trays with seeds sourced on site with fox farm soil mixed with a healthy dose of local soil for the mycorrhizae ❤️🌲

We've been talking about building a small sap house up here, I sorta love the idea. Also some before and after dealing with some 30+ tons of slash. I saved some slash for habitat and water control to restore a runoff thats been rutted from logging on another area of property and I cant wait to get to work on it next year ❤️🌲

Guess what? 🍁 We have a special very limited run of pure big leaf maple syrup in 8 ounce bottles available, and even fewer 4 ounce bottles available as of November 1, 2025. Shipping is not currently available, but we deliver personally around Alger/Glenhaven or pickup is available as well. 🌲 Rain or Shine — He Shows Up 🌧️
For the past 7 plus days, Jonathan’s been out burning slash piles to keep our tree farm healthy and thriving. Today the rain came down in sheets — soaking him clean through on his first trip out. But instead of calling it a day, he suited up in full rain gear and got right back to work. 💪

This is the behind-the-scenes heart and hustle that keeps Winterbrook going.
I see it. I appreciate it. And I’m endlessly proud of the heart he puts in every single day ❤️

A couple yearlings passing through. It never gets old. We've had a number of people ask how we keep the deer from eating our saplings. We handle it in 2 ways that are working. First is dogs for sure, second is plenty of better foraging available. A lot of thought goes in to leaving tall grass and brush to hide and bed down in along paths we know they use, and plenty to forage on besides trees and saplings. We have had 0 saplings browsed on by deer.
