Second Chances
Starting over can be fraught with anxiety. I’m not going to pretend otherwise. But it can also be an exciting time! That’s because it offers you a second chance to do more of what is truly right and meaningful for you. It offers you a chance to make different choices and establish a better fit this time around. That’s an incredible opportunity that not everyone gets to realize. Some folks are bound to earlier choices that stopped working for them years ago. Others go into their later years with some serious regrets—regrets they could have rectified at various points in time, but didn’t because they didn’t have the opportunity or courage to do so.

You’ve changed. The world has changed. It only makes sense that some of your choices will change as well.

So, grant yourself permission to go through some trial and error. That way, when you are ready to start committing to things again, you’ll have a better understanding of what you need in today’s reality to feel complete.

You don’t want to just reestablish yourself so that you’re up and functioning. You want to reestablish yourself in ways that bring more fulfillment and purpose into your life. Now is not the time to push back on those things you’ve always wanted to do, because when you come to the end of your life’s journey, unrealized potential isn’t going to matter as much as what you’ve actually done and experienced.

Transitional times are these golden opportunities to identify and explore those things you’ve always wanted to do. Starting over clears space so that you might add more richness and purpose to your life.
