We camp in the lot on the west side of the Coke bottling plant. It's managed every year by the local Lions club. They won this years best of trophy for doing an outstanding job dealing with the mud and the drunks and the keeping the peace like they do every year. They finally got the recognition they deserve!
The view from the entrance to turn 3. Could be the best seats in the house?

This year we are awarding Best of Camp trophies to the folks who outdid everyone else in their class. The first one may go to the worst mud stuck Motorhome!

Another year at Indy- I remember the first year I came- 1992. I slept in a one-man tent next to 25th St. almost on the curb. All night I felt like I was gonna get run over by a car or a firetruck or a police car. I was hooked. The next year I came back with something better to sleep in, and then years after that things just got better and better. Pop-up camper, Motorhome, i've flown out here and camped at the airport but the best way to do it is pulling our 30 foot travel trailer. I've been camping with the same folks for many many years and I love looking forward to seeing my Indy friends every May. It's not lost on me that I'm blessed to do something every year that some people dream about getting to go just once in a lifetime.

Day four of wiring the new instrument panel for the airplane. I was kinda dreading this project, and I can't thank Kobbe at SkyWire Studio enough for making me a wiring diagram, or map as I call it. I'm almost through the first of four pages and I'm getting better at soldiering and pinning every day. Today I went back and re-did some of my earlier work since I've learned a few things. After this, rewiring the Roadrunner is going to seem like a vacation!

Some progress on the Turbobird, we mounted the air conditioning compressor today. Made two custom battery trays for the Oddysey AGM batteries built right here in town by Enersys.

A good guy went to meet the Lord this morning- Tony Stotler was a B2 technician at WAFB and a classic car lover. Many years ago I helped him rebuild the transmission in his Mach 1 under the program I started called Work with a Pro. Guys like Tony who had a classic car could bring it to my shop and I would work with them instead of doing the work for them. Tony was my very first customer and the guinea pig. I really liked him and I am sorry to hear he is gone. Rest in peace buddy.
This is Tony Stotler and he is rebuilding the FMX in his 1970 Mach 1. We removed the transmission together and then overhauled it with new Raybestos parts and Precision of New Hampton street stall torque converter. Tony works for Northrop on the base and lives in Warrensburg.
