According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, addiction is defined as a chronic, relapsing disorder characterized by compulsive drug seeking and use despite adverse consequences. It can affect anyone and often impacts physical health, mental wellbeing, relationships, and daily functioning.

If you notice multiple signs, it may indicate a substance use disorder. Early support can make a significant difference in helping someone.
