The Fez
ROCK & ROLL HEAD FIRST: We're a band. We're not too bad, especially considering we rarely get to play together (and that was pre-Covid). Seriously!
We play some originals and can cover just about anything. This is our page.
The demand for more Keith Ripley on the dance floor was too heavy to ignore. Fun fact…Keith was featured in the band’s video version of this song delivering a classic performance.
There's a story behind this song by British, alternate dance-rock, one-hit woner, EMF, in The Fez , but that's for another time. Unbelievable has been a staple at our shows for years and it still manages to get people on the dance floor and to try their hand at The Brand (Brad F**g). And, yes, that's another story unto itself. The song with it's great groove and use of sampling really holds up and we love playing it. David Paro Mike Quinn Guma Foundation John Broderick, Michael Guma
This rocker featuring John Broderick on lead vocal has become another regular in our sets. The reasons are obvious.
We may have started playing this song at Casino Night because the band, often referred to as a one-hit wonder, has origins in nearby New Brunswick, NJ. Reality is, we have fun doing it and people still seem to enjoy singing along. What a great night in Secaucus to support the Guma Foundation

Another Casino Night in the books. What an honor and treat it is for us to play this gig for a great crowd and a wonderful cause, the Guma Foundation.

Spectacular evening playing at the 20th Anniversary Casino Night to support Guma Foundation, Inc. Excellent turnout for a wonderful cause. Loved seeing the dance floor full as the night closed.
If you'd forgotten about us, we wouldn't blame you. For a variety of reasons, we haven't been able to do much musically, at least not together, in a while. But when Admiral MQ suggested that we take on The Beatles' classic Come Together as a way to ring in the New Year (following the contentious last one), we leapt into action. Well, at least as quickly as our 60-plus YO asses can leap. This song kicked off the Beatles Abbey Road album, the last one recorded by the band. While there may not be consensus on the meaning of the rather strange John Lennon lyrics, there is consensus that Come Together was a truly great track. Lennon himself considered it one of his favorites and the band's legendary producer, George Martin, felt it showed off the "four disparate talents of the boys and the ways they combined to make a great sound," better than any other song. One particular stellar part of the song is the great drum riff created by Ringo Starr and played perfectly by Joseph DePasquale. A big thanks to Mike's son, Bryce, for joining in on the rhythm guitar. Always a treat to have BQuiz provide his talents to a Fez production. So with that, John, Mike, Michael and David wish you all a wonderful 2025 with hopes that we can somehow find a way to Come Together.
JD Souther, the great songwriter that passed this week, co-penned this one with Frey and Henley. This was a fun one to do. Oh hell, they were all fun.

We know we haven't given you Fez Heads much of anything in a while, but we are fast approaching Casino Night '24 and we hope we can count on you to add it to your calendars. Secaucus NJ's legendary La Reggia again serves as the venue for the Guma Foundation, Inc. Casino Night, April 13, supporting Tomorrows Children's Fund. It's a great evening of fun, food, drink, friendship, and music. We vouch for all but the music part. Most importantly, the cause is wonderful. Registration link is below. Hope to see you there. https://www.gumafoundationinc.org/casino-night-2024-registration.html
It's well documented that we don't move particularly fast. Robbie Robertson, the legendary songwriter and guitarist from The Band, died on August 9. He certainly deserved a quicker tribute response from us, but nonetheless, we're happy to bring you Up On Cripple Creek. Though not singing lead on most of The Band's most popular songs, Robertson was the driving force of the band's sound, crafting songs that perfectly fit the style of the group, including the vocals of the late Levon Helm. Saying that the Canadian artist was a huge influence on the Americana rock movement, would be a massive understatement. We had some fun trading off the lead vocal and trying out our yodeling. On that latter point, we realized there's more to it than we thought. Major thanks to the multi-talented musician, producer and engineer, Bryce Quinn, MQ's son, for contributing the guitar track on this one. Given the rate that some of our favorite artists are heading to rock & roll heaven, John Broderick, Mike Quinn, Michael Guma, Joe Depasquale and David Paro the tributes are backing up a bit. Rest assured, we won't get around to them very quickly.
