Asher C Goldstein, MD, Board Certified Pain Management

Director of Pain Medicine at Hudson Orthopedic Pain and Spine (HOPS). Prior to joining HOPS, he was the Chair of Pain Medicine at Holy Name Medical Center. His practice is located in Hackensack, New Jersey.

Dr. Goldstein has been treating patients for 18 years. He attended medical school at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, New York, and did his residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He completed his ACGME accredited Anesthesia Pain Medicine Fellowship program at the combined Brooklyn Hospital program of LICH, Lutheran, King County, and Downstate hospitals in Brooklyn New York.

Dr. Goldstein takes a focused, hands-on approach to treating patients. Using his years of experience and education in the realms of Psychology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Anesthesiology to form the treatment plan for the whole patient, and not just to treat particular symptoms.

Dr. Goldstein's expertise in interventional pain medicine encompasses minimally invasive techniques to address pain anywhere in the body. He has extensive experience in neuromodulation medicine which encompasses dorsal root ganglion, peripheral nerve, and spinal cord stimulation. Additionally, he is experienced in the newest, minimally invasive techniques, such as MILD, spine spacers, and the Intracept procedure . These are all FDA approved and highly effective in long-term treatment of low back pain.

Another area of expertise is in effective treatment of pain related to immune system dysfunction/autoimmune diseases, such as Fibromyalgia, Crohn’s, SIBO, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), long-haul COVID-19, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Lupus, and Lyme diseases.

Since 1999 he has worked at various medical facilities in the northeast. He has experience in Radiology and Angiography.
