Located in Sebring, Florida, this project began with a Black Caribbean family who had lived in their home for over 25 years and found themselves deciding between downsizing or reimagining the place where they had raised their daughters and created a lifetime of memories.

THIS project resonated deeply with me. Through the lens of Rejuvenation Home Studio, we transformed this plantation style home through color, culture, and character, creating intentional moments of rest, reflection, and connection. The result is a modern colonial home layered with craftsmanship, meaningful art, and a renewed sense of purpose.

One of the greatest compliments came from the homeowner herself. After attending one of my Living Well Through Interior Design events years ago, she told me, “You were right.” She shared that they now experience their home differently, feeling more confident when entertaining, more present during moments of reflection, and as if they are truly “living in a magazine.”

Thank you to the incredible family who trusted us with their story, to the talented team who brought the vision to life, and to and for the beautiful feature and opportunity to share this meaningful project.

THE THRESHOLD ✨

Lately, I’ve been thinking about the spaces I create for everyone else and the space I’m finally creating for myself.

As I begin envisioning my own bedroom, I keep returning to the idea of the threshold.

The moment of crossing over.

The moment between what you’re carrying and what you’re ready to release.

When I enter my bedroom, what am I leaving behind?

The expectations.
The responsibilities.
The endless decisions.
The energy I’ve poured into everyone else.

And what is waiting to receive me?

Stillness.
Comfort.
Restoration.
Peace.

Then, in the morning, the threshold asks a different question.

Who am I when I leave?

How do I want to enter the world?

Grounded.
Clear.
Inspired.
Rejuvenated.

Maybe the threshold isn’t just a doorway.

Maybe it’s where healing begins.

June feels like a memory of a childhood long gone, but resurrecting itself as a passion ready to take flight. Yes, it’s been circuling my thoughts and now it’s presenting itself as an itch that needs to be scratched.

I have not picked up a paintbrush to create my own art in decades. Yet something feels familiar and so desirable.

It’s really seductive and drawing me and so close I am so tempted…. It’s an offer that I cannot resist! Stay tuned!!
