Swipe through for Part 1 of our Q&A with Heidi. ➡️

Heidi’s journey to becoming our winemaker is a blend of science, grit, and a healthy dose of inspiration from Merry herself. From her roots in Santa Rosa to a leadership role at the winery today, we’re sitting down with Heidi to talk about the drive (and the chemistry) behind every vintage.

Our 2023 Richaven Pinot Noir continues to shine, earning 94 Points from Wine Enthusiast critic Tom Capo. This vintage is a beautiful exploration of texture and depth, perfectly captured in his latest review:

"Aromas of roasted berries, plum skin, spice mélange and flowers drive the nose of this wine. The plush and tannic palate delivers flavors of baked cherry, raspberry liqueur, pithy orange peel, and black tea across the finish."

Our thanks to Marisa Finetti for publishing a superb profile of our winemaker, Heidi von der Mehden in .mag: "Carrying a Legacy, Making It Her Own."

"Discover how Heidi von der Mehden is honoring and evolving the legacy of Merry Edwards through innovation, vineyard-driven winemaking, and a distinctive new Sauvignon Blanc release."

Countertop decor has never looked so good (or so drinkable). Which one are you opening first?

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Ken Coopersmith, Merry Edwards’ husband, business partner and soulmate.

Ken was known for his gregarious, fun-loving and enthusiastic approach to life, love and wine. He loved to “bend your ear” with wonderful stories about the wine business and his travels.

Merry and Ken met over a wine she made and he immediately asked her to marry him. He was a larger-than-life figure, and we will miss his voice as he announced himself at the winery. Our deepest sympathies are with Merry and the Edwards-Coopersmith families.

This Mother’s Day, we’re honoring the ultimate matriarch: Mother Nature.

Our history as a women-led brand has always been defined by a deep respect for the seasons and the soil. To us, land stewardship isn’t just a job; it’s our lineage. From founder Merry Edwards to Winemaker Heidi von der Mehden and President Nicole Carter, we’re proud to carry forward a tradition of nurturing the land that, in turn, nurtures our vineyards. As growing seasons become more unpredictable, we pivot because we have learned from our history that everything changes and you must never stop innovating.

Cheers to Mother Nature and the challenges she places in our path, because they make us stronger with every passing day. After all, isn't that the goal of every mom?

Let’s be honest: arriving with a bottle of Merry Edwards is the easiest way to secure an invite back. Whether it’s a big reunion or just an "it’s Tuesday" kind of dinner, bringing a piece of the valley to the table is always a good move.
