Sebastopol Center for the Arts
Sebastopol Center for the Arts (SebArts) is a respected Northern California arts organization and when there isn’t a pandemic happening, we’re a popular hub within the Sonoma County Arts scene. We’re a dynamic, largely community funded, art space in downtown Sebastopol, with a track record of attracting over 50,000 artists and arts enthusiasts annually.

In this episode, Serafina Palandech, Executive Director of the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, discusses one of the art world's biggest events: the Venice Biennale.
This year's Biennale has been marked by both celebration and controversy. Following the unexpected passing of curator Koyo Kouoh, organizers chose to move forward and honor her legacy through the exhibition's theme. At the same time, ongoing global conflicts have sparked intense conversations around national pavilions, representation, protest, and the role of art during times of political unrest.
From demonstrations outside pavilions to debates among cultural leaders and jurors, the Biennale reminds us that art is never created in a vacuum. It reflects the world around us, challenges perspectives, and invites important conversations about who gets to be seen and heard.
And the story isn't over yet, Serafina will be attending the Biennale and reporting back on the exhibitions, artists, and ideas that leave the biggest impression!

✨ Meet Dean Orlosky of Oak & Anchor Pottery ✨
Hear more of his story in our Makers Series at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts.
Dean doesn’t fit creativity into one box -
and he doesn’t try to. Through pottery, painting, and quilt-making, he follows curiosity wherever it leads, letting process and play guide the work.
Inspired by the world around him - and a lifelong love of stripes, pattern, and color - his work feels bold, joyful, and deeply personal.
His advice for anyone wondering if they’re “creative enough”? Just get in there.
Make something. Try something. Follow what catches your attention. 🖌️🎨
