Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Chinese New Year! Year of the Tiger. Can you name these famous tigers?

We had a guest Orthodontist this week, Dr. Monique Heron. It has been a complete full circle for her. She was a patient many moons ago, then in high school she worked at our office as a sterilization assistant, in college she worked summers as an orthodontic assistant and now as an Orthodontist! She gives credit to Dr. Chan for inspiring her to become an Orthodontist. It’s been fun having her with us this week.

This year for our Holiday Outing we did something a little different, we went on walking food tour of Healdsburg.
It was a fantastic way to taste amazing food and beverages while learning about the history and food scene in Healdsburg. We all agreed it exceeded all our expectations.

Minor tooth movement occurs in every mouth throughout life, whether or not there has been prior orthodontic treatment. The most common area for change is in the lower front teeth. These changes may be greatly minimized or possibly eliminated by continued retainer wear on a long term basis.

Dear Chan Orthodontics Families,

This community has been tested and stood strong many times in the past, we will weather this storm and come out more resilient and cohesive.

Based on the CDC and California Dental Association’s recommendation that dentists practicing in California voluntarily suspend nonessential or non-urgent dental care, the office will be closed until April 6, 2020.

CDA and the CDC does not make this request lightly, but out of an abundance of caution during this historic public health emergency. As health care professionals, we all have a role to play in "flattening the curve" in order to follow sound, scientific public health advice to help limit infections and slow the spread of the virus COVID-19 throughout our communities.
During the office closure, Email ([email protected]) any questions or concerns that you may have. Phone messages will be checked periodically, but you may call the emergency line if an urgent need arises. Keeping our staff members safe is also a priority, so any in-office emergency opportunities will be made on an individual basis.

In the upcoming less contagious months we will do our best to reschedule everyone in order to minimize treatment delays. Please bear with us as we do our best to navigate timelines and work out details as information from the CDC and local, state and federal authorities evolves.

Meanwhile, enjoy time with family, wash your hands, brush your teeth, keep wearing your elastics and keep smiling!
