my younger self was a real one. a core memory I have from a younger me.

My cat healed me the other day.

I was crying, very loudly, alone in the house.. or so I thought. In the bedroom with my door closed, I heard my cat, Nancy, scream meowing in the hallway...

I instantly got up and opened the door and called for her. She didn't come. I looked out and she was near the kitchen, she looked at me and gave another loud meow.

So I kinda ran to her, not because I was scared for her, but because finally someone was calling for me and drawing me out. I got on the floor and hugged her as I broke down further. covering her in tears.

She slipped out of my hug and meowed her way to the couch.

leading me to sit down and be with her. I followed her over and for 5 or so minutes just let myself cry.

Told her thank you a bunch and let her rub her cheeks on me and love me as I loved her. I went back to the bedroom because I thought my partner was coming in and I was about to get boogers all over Nancy anyway
