All the main frame pieces for eight Leksand band looms thicknessed and cut. Need to plane the fourth side tomorrow and start laying out the joints and mortises.

Feels good to get back to making looms again.

Bettes-Silver Schack sent me these photos. She has the first loom I ever sold. Sapele mahogany. What a lovely place to weave on a summer morning.

Haven’t done a thing with this page in a couple of years. All that is about to change. After three years without a shop, my machines will be delivered to the new shop building and I can get set up for making looms and other things. It’s been a long time coming.

I moved from Seattle to Portland and am now in Dayton, Oregon in a wonderful old craftsman house. There’s a separate building, really a small barn, that I’ve been turning into my wood shop. Electrical went in two months ago, insulation and sheetrock up about two weeks ago and heat/AC installed last week. I’m really excited to be close to working wood again.

First project will be a set of 8 - 10 Leksand band looms for a class given by Kirsi Manni at the North House Folk School in Grand Marais, Minnesota in September. I’m looking forward to meeting Kirsi and learning her techniques for setting up and weaving on a Leksand Band Loom.

Hi All. Sorry to be absent for so long. I’m in the process of building a new wood shop. (Bought a new house) It’s taking longer than planned. Hope to get the shop together by this summer (2026) and will let everyone know when I’m back up and running.
