Huge congratulations to our baker and prep cook Cora for graduating from Rainier Beach High School with highest honors and as a salutatorian of her class! Cora was born to do great things and while we will miss her at the cafe when she goes off to college next fall, we are excited for her journey ahead ❤️🎓💐

It’s a beautiful late spring day and we are looking forward to gathering for our art opening for tonight 6/12 from 6-9pm. We will have .theband playing out in the garden and a delicious inarizsushi special served with miso soup and a refreshing cucumber salad 🥒. We’ll also have a surprise cocktail with cherries we picked right here in the south end 🍒, as well as our full food and drink menu per usual. It’s sure to be a good time and we hope to see you ☀️

New art is up! We are currently featuring the work of , whose display is a collection of photography taken on a month long road trip through Kenya. The pieces explore what it means to be a traveler and uses photography as a way to share experience and celebrate people in a way he hopes fosters greater connectivity. We’ll be hosting an art opening this Friday 6/12 from 6-9pm at the cafe and .theband will be rocking out on the garden level. Hope to see all you Earth People 🌍👩🏻‍🦰

Shout out to Ren for coming out of his Redwing retirement era to help us out when we were short a barista this morning! Basically felt like having a tender-hearted punk celebrity in house 💙🦋

One of the best things about being a small neighborhood business is all of the wonderful community we encounter, including Marian (the human) and Mia (the pup)! We noticed these two divas and their swaggy hat game a few weeks back and had a delightful time talking to about all kinds of stuff, including places she’s lived internationally, here in the US and in Seattle. A common sentiment among Rainier Beach residents is that it’s the best community we’ve lived in here in Seattle (and beyond). Very grateful for these every day conversations and connections ✨🍀

Ashanti and her ice cream are BACK!!!! As of this week, has doors open again in Rainier Beach. The shop has delicious ice cream treats (including some great non-dairy options), immaculate vibes, is Black woman owned and has a very strong dedication to our community. You can catch Ashanti there tomorrow to congratulate her on her reopening and to wish her a Happy Mother’s Day 🍦💕💐
