A Special Day at Sea🚢: A Well-Deserved Break for Our Caregivers
Through the CISC Family Caregiver Support Program and Sunshine Garden Senior Center, 18 caregivers and seniors enjoyed a special cruise outing, with many boarding a cruise ship for the first time. From exploring the vessel and taking in stunning ocean views to sharing a delicious lunch and meaningful conversations, the day offered a chance to unwind, connect, and enjoy time together away from daily responsibilities. We are grateful to the cruise staff and our dedicated CISC team for helping make this memorable experience possible.

In partnership with the North Bellevue Community Center, we welcomed nearly 170 community members for a joyful morning of music, dance, and cultural performances, celebrating Bellevue as a welcoming city where everyone belongs.
A special thank you to Bellevue City Councilmember Lynne Robinson for attending and offering remarks in support of this important celebration.

The CISC Healthcare Access and Outreach Program SHIBA Volunteer Team joined Tim Smolen, SHIBA Program Manager from the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner, at Kin On’s Seniors Day on August 29, 2026. The team provided information and resources on Medicare and Medicare scams to more than 550 event participants.

Great People, Great Resources, Great Event!
CISC was proud to participate in the King County Reconnect to Opportunity Back-to-School Resource Fair, where we shared information about worker protections and CISC services with families, partner organizations, and service providers. Thank you to everyone who helped create such a welcoming and resourceful event for the community.

On August 15, CISC Family Resource Center and Anti-Bias Anti-Hate Program welcomed 46 community members to a Community Safety Workshop. Through discussion and shared learning, participants explored community safety, crisis response, de-escalation strategies, local resources, the role of CID Ambassadors, and community-driven ideas for creating a safer, stronger, and more connected neighborhood.

Six weeks flew by! CISC bilingual preschoolers spent the summer learning through play, exploring new ideas, building friendships, and developing important social and problem-solving skills. From "Under the Sea" adventures and creative activities to movie days, picnics, and our final PJ party, every week was filled with fun and meaningful learning. Congratulations to our graduates! 😎💙

CISC is working with state and local partners to support immigrants who will lose long-term care and health coverage starting Oct. 1 due to the passage of federal law, H.R. 1. We're deeply concerned about the impact.

For CISC clients, the H.R. 1 law implementation means a woman with ALS won't have dependable access to essential medical treatment and medications. An older woman with Alzheimer's won't have caregiver support for her extensive personal care needs. A woman who was treated for aggressive breast cancer won't be able to afford medications to reduce the risk of cancer relapse.
