They connected with community members and partners while sharing updates about the exciting work happening across our arts and nature programs from creative opportunities at Youngstown to environmental education and stewardship in our local green spaces!ππ

Weβre excited to share that the ribbon has officially been cut on the Roxhill Bog restoration project! βοΈπΏ
Construction is complete, and water is once again being retained in this special peat wetland! π§
On February 19th, we celebrated this milestone with community partners and leaders! π Guests toured the bog, learned about the restoration work, and enjoyed hands-on activities like seed ball making and science experiments! ππ±
This fall, an underground barrier was installed to help retain water and prevent the bog from drying out. Construction wrapped in December, and within days, major hydrology changes were visible DNDA and volunteers have since planted nearly 1,000 native plants πΏππ
Thank you to everyone who supported this journey! Weβre excited to apply these lessons to future restoration efforts! πβ¨
