Join us for the Olmstead Legacy Tours to learn how the Olmstead Brothers shaped and designed the parks system we all love today! Guides from the “Friends of Seattle’s Olmsted Parks” will introduce and lead you on short walks through Seward Park, Washington Park Arboretum, and Volunteer Park. Walks will be on a variety of surfaces, including lawn and gravel paths.

🚧 NOTICE: Northgate Play Area Temporarily Closed

The play area at Northgate Community Center is currently closed while we remove the existing wooden structure. A recent inspection found rot in several support posts, and for everyone’s safety, the structure is being taken down. Seattle Parks and Recreation is already in the process of purchasing a new, in‑kind play structure for ages 5–12, with an anticipated reopening in fall 2026.
While this location is closed, the newly renovated, aeronautical‑themed play area at Hubbard Homestead Park is open and ready for play! Visit 11203 5th Ave NE—just north of Target.
