Director of Projects Alyssa Davis spent a beautiful couple of days in Chelan for WSSHE Spring Symposium 2024. Speaking with and listening to fellow attendees, DAA is excited about the future of Washington state healthcare.

Dean Alan Architect’s Principal Angela Gee attended BONDMulti alongside 90 of America’s top multifamily residential architects. Such an incredible opportunity to build community and connect through large-scale multifamily residential projects.

Earlier this month Deborah Lahti represented the firm in London at Designing Dreams: A Night of Design & Social Impact at the House of Commons. Thanks to Article 25 and Ascot Design for co-hosting such a lovely event - bringing together a room full of professionals dedicated to effecting lasting change through architecture.

As usual, Night of the Stars did not disappoint. We were delighted to host Katie Trimpe, Liz Haeck, Thor Hatton, Tevin Cosby and Ben Nakamura in partnership with our friends at PeopleSpace, Theresa Comer and Howard York. Congratulations to the 2023 award recipients!

Construction on The Place at Arroyo Verde in Tucson, AZ continues to move forward. Our team walked the site to see concrete being formed, poured, finished, and cured. For safety and project speed, the construction crew pre-fabricates the second floor and roof modules on the ground and then installs them with a crane.

The first residents of The Place at Silverbell Gateway are moving in! It’s so rewarding to see end-users enjoying their new homes and community amenities. Construction continues on seven other residential buildings, scheduled for completion in the spring of 2024. Many members of the Seattle team saw the project for the first time during our Tucson visit – very impressive!

Teamwork is a key tenet at Dean Alan Architects. Our Seattle team flew down to Tucson last week to spend time with our colleagues in Arizona. The visit was filled with collaborative work sessions, site visits, shared meals, and outdoor activities. In addition to the great company, the team enjoyed the sunny, 80° weather!

Huge congratulations Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Arizona for hosting the spectacular Diamond Jubilee Gala Dinner and Auction this past weekend! The gala, marking 60 years of youth mentoring by BBBSSA, drew more than 400 attendees and raised $209,518 to support its mission. Dean Alan Architects was honored to sponsor and attend this event alongside other key organizations in southern Arizona.

DAA joined DCI Engineers for their annual golf tournament benefiting Childhaven last week. James and Nonda were joined by Robyn Yang and Chris Schlegel of DCI to come in four under par! Thanks to DCI for organizing a great day for a great cause.

We would like to congratulate our Seattle Studio Director, James Spence-Chan, who recently became a Registered Architect in Washington state. James dedicated an immeasurable amount of time studying for his final exams, and his hard work has paid off. The DAA team is immensely proud of his demonstrated excellence in the field. Congratulations, James Spence-Chan AIA!
