Two more days until the tassel-moving moment! But first, two important reminders:
1. Please adhere to the Alaska Airlines Arena clear bag policy: "Each person is allowed one clear bag (maximum 12" × 6" × 12" or a one-gallon resealable bag) plus one small clutch (maximum 4.5" × 6.5")."

"When your community needs something, you build it."
We are so proud of 2026 Seattle Central Computer Science graduate, Abdiaziz Ahmed! After arriving in the U.S. from Somalia at 16, Abdiaziz channeled his father’s blacksmithing work ethic into technology. He taught himself to code and built the Seattle Community Resource Navigator—a bilingual app that has already helped over 50 immigrant and refugee families access vital housing, healthcare, and legal services.
Because of his relentless dedication to using tech for good, Abdiaziz has been awarded the prestigious 2026 Martin Family Foundation Achievement Scholarship to continue his studies at the University of Washington!
Abdiaziz, you are proof that hard work and a heart for others can open any door. Join us in congratulating him on this incredible milestone! 👏

Abdiaziz Ahmed My name is Abdiaziz Ahmed, and I am a full-time student at Seattle Central College, pursuing an Associate of Science in Computer Science. I came to the United States from Somalia at sixteen, alone. I did not arrive with much. What I carried was something I learned by watching my father, a blacksmith...
Hey Tigers, here's a helpful tip for this year's Commencement Ceremony.
The light rail drops you off directly at the Alaska Airlines Arena, the ceremony venue. From Capitol Hill, the journey takes >15 minutes (get off at the University of Washington Station).
For a hybrid option, you can enjoy free parking at the Harvard Garage across the street from the Broadway Edison Building, then take the light rail to the arena.
Please consider this option, or other public transportation to get to Commencement. It's green, it's fast, it makes for some fun pictures, and you won't have to navigate additional traffic caused by the FIFA World Cup events.
If you do decide to drive, please park in lot E18 and wait for a golf cart to transport you and your party to the arena.
