Pardon my geeking out for a minute. 😅

I managed to score an ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X for a great deal at Best Buy. First thing I did was wipe it, swap the stock 1TB SSD for a spare 2TB I had lying around, then install a debloated copy of Windows 11 Home on a 512GB partition and SteamOS on the remaining 1.5TB.

This thing is remarkably capable, and I’m loving it so far.

Bonus: It docks beautifully to a TV. I’m still experimenting, but 1440p seems to be the sweet spot so far for performance and responsiveness. It’s fascinating how capable this little handheld is. I can tweak the experience to my liking while still kicking back on the couch with a controller. Having SteamOS, Windows, Steam, Game Pass, Epic, and everything else on one device feels like the best of both worlds.

Technology is pretty fascinating sometimes. 🤓

It felt amazing to be back after a much-needed break and a week spent exploring the Olympic National Forest. It was exactly what I needed, and it made returning to the decks that much more special.
