Promoting camaraderie and justice with arts and community events. Fiscally sponsored by Shunpike.

We've planned a June of art, community-building, and park stewardship, and you're invited.

We're screening "Partners" 6/1 at Seattle Liberation Center. If you're in a union, union-curious, or just want to learn about Starbucks workers' efforts to unionize, join us!

6/6 we're cleaning Magnuson Park before joining Magnuson Park Gallery to make sun-prints, potentially from items discovered during the cleanup.

And Friday 6/19 we're showing a "Friday" double-feature (1995 and 2000) at Montana Badlands.

Free with RSVP (at our website).

This is the final planned in our May Day series: The Haymarket Affair of 1886, when workers walked out for an 8-hour workday, police were violent, someone threw a bomb, and 4 men were hanged who maintained their innocence to the end.

Content warning: su***de mention.

This May Day week, we’re visiting significant moments in U.S. labor history, 1. To learn what we can from the struggles of workers before us, 2. Because it’s suspiciously missing from our public-school curricula, and 3. To thank those workers who fought for what rights we have.

Part 2 is the 1920 Battle of Matewan, a pivotal moment in the US Coal Wars and Appalachian history, and a key moment in the leadup to the Battle of Blair Mountain.

This May Day, we’re visiting significant moments in U.S. labor history, 1. To learn what we can from the struggles of workers before us, 2. Because it’s suspiciously missing from our public-school curricula, and 3. In appreciation of those workers who fought for what rights we have.

We’re starting 5/1 with America’s first industrial strike, when the absence of the hum of machinery and a dictated schedule was in living memory. At the start of our current incarnation of capitalism.

Y'all showed UP. We're thankful for everyone who played, who poured drinks, who donated, who just came and had a really great time. THANK YOU.

We hope to do more/similar shindigs in the future. And we have a LOT coming up this year. Stay tuned, as the old texts say.

We're still collating the data, but people got together to listen to live music and gave to their community. It was awesome.

Special thanks to Jonny Bullets; the excellent staff at Montana Badlands; Happy Heartbreak, Shame Banger, and Sunshine Lollipop;

and 4Culture and the fiscal sponsorship of Shunpike for helping us make it all happen.
