One inflation effect, one might say 'windfall' is associated with VAT or sales tax. Transaction taxes are a fixed percentage of the selling price or value added. As inflation increases, government revenues from transaction taxes rises. The higher the inflation, the more the tax revenue increases. Food for thought when government claims to be 'fighting inflation'.
