Hey everyone! Itās been a long long time so Iāve shown my face and reintroduced myself š
I first started this account in 2015, 8 years ago!! Thatās crazy. Just little old me with a cooking hobby thatās grown into such a huge passion of mine over the years. This passion turned into me pursuing dietetics as a career and helping others learn about the joy of food.
Iām currently working as a clinical dietitian alongside running this food blog. If Iām being honest, itās been a bittersweet journey with this blog. Iāve taken long breaks (for my education) and learned how dynamic and changeable social media can be over time. Itās been a journey learning how to navigate this unexpected algorithm and saturated market. And I have moments when I feel like Iām not doing enough or paying too much attention to numbers. But what has not changed is my love for creating and sharing recipes.
I hope that these recipes can spark joy for you as it does for me :)
Some of my favorite things:
* Rainy days in a coffee shop (the inner Seattleite coming out)
* Slow mornings with a warm homemade vanilla latte and a good book (right now Iām reading The Nightingale)
* Laying down on a picnic blanket with my favorite read while watching my husband play pickleball. Haha so specific but itās been a staple activity this summer.
* A warm gooey chocolate chip cookie with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. My husband and I eat this at least 2x/week.
* Going out to Thai food - my favorite!
* Exercising for 30 min (no more). Iāve learned that my body enjoys working out for a maximum of 30-35 min. Any longer and I usually end up dreading it or getting bored. Itās important to enjoy the exercise youāre doing not forcing yourself into it!
If you ever have any questions, recipe requests, or just want someone to talk to, my DMs are always open š¤

I used to follow and listen to this messaging CONSTANTLY.
I was told by diet culture that I had to use coconut sugar or maple syrup instead of ārefinedā sugar, almond flour instead of white flour, or banana instead of oil.
Baking with ātraditionalā ingredients was considered āunhealthyā and only could be done on the weekends ā ācheat daysā
šš¼ Does this resonate with you?
Diet culture demonizes these foods. Makes us feel guilty and ashamed for eating them.
But what diet culture tells us about this IS NOT TRUE ā¼ļø
- We have full, unconditional permission to eat any and all foods.
- We have full permission to enjoy any and all foods.
Food should be celebrated without guilt or shame š„³
Disclaimer: enjoying these substitutions isnāt BAD. If they are your preference, then go for it!!
Remember you have permission to choose what works for you.
Just ask yourself before substituting that ingredient: What is my intention? How am I going to feel about this after?
