We have spent time digging in, listening, and learning up on how we can best show up for our black community. However, this can't be done in isolation and it will take all of us, (calling on all white and non-black or indigenous people of color) to dismantle wide-spread systemic racism. Something that is entrenched in every fabric of our country that it perpetuates police brutality and the increasing boldness of white supremacy to sustain the historic and violent oppression of the black community.

This MUST stop.

As we finalized our blog post we had to add two names (Tony McDade and David McAtee) to the list of black men, women and gender-diverse individuals killed by various forms of police brutality. Until white America collectively acknowledges its privilege, takes responsibility for its racist past, and the impact and imprint that has had on the present, this list of names will never end.

As an initial step, we at Knack pledge to:
