I'm moving my fine art and sketchbook work to this dedicated page in the hopes of inspiring others to tap into their creative passions and inner artist.

This is as close to an artist’s statement as I could muster for my “show.” LoFi. Honest. Real. It’s less of a soapbox manifesto and more of a personal mantra that I aspire to. One day at a time.

A few weeks ago I took a poll: stick with the (purple) underpainting palette, or finish it to the truer greens IRL. The people spoke, 68% said stick with the purple. At that point, the paint had been applied more thin than I liked, so I finally got around to finishing it. Let’s see if anyone wants to buy it! It’ll be part of the show I’m hanging in a few days, and on full display this coming Saturday, May 9, at from 6-9 pm. Pop by, say hi and check it out.

Medellín, 2023. I was at the Botanical Gardens, completely overwhelmed in the best way — so much color and life everywhere I looked. But this plant is the one that got me.
Green on one side, purple on the other. Then the sun hit it and it turned gold. I had to paint it…and it has continued to inspire me to paint more flora. This will be one of the paintings that I’ll be sharing next month at for Second Saturday Ballard Artwalk on May 9th.
