【梶岡潤一監督がシアトルに!「杉原千畝を繋いだ命の物語」上映会&パネルディスカッション】
A Film Screening of Sugihara Survivors and Panel Discussion with Director Junichi Kajioka

Join us for a panel discussion and screening of two films about Japanese diplomat Chiune Sugihara.
Date and time: Monday, July 29, 6:30pm – (doors open at 5:45pm)
Venue: Broadway Performing Center at Seattle Central College

Please RSVP at https://sugiharaseattle.eventbrite.com. Admission is free but seats are limited.

Prior to the event, we have an opportunity to speak with the director of one of the films, Mr. Junichi Kajioka, with light refreshments served, starting at 5:45pm.

Mr. Sugihara served as Vice Consul in Kaunas, Lithuania during the Second World War and helped thousands of Jews flee Europe by issuing transit visas to them so that they could travel through Japanese territory. The first movie, Sugihara Survivors, is a short documentary that depicts a person’s journey to discover what became of those refugees after the war. The second movie, Persona Non Grata, is a 2015 Japanese biographical film that not only depicts Sugihara’s actions during WWII, but also portrays his life and struggles.

Japan vs. Senegal @ Fado Irish Pub 06/11/2018

Fado Irish Pub will be showing many of the World Cup matches, and although they weren't planning on being open for this one, they said they'd be willing to make an exception.

If we can get 20 people to commit to an early breakfast (and maybe a mimosa or two), Fado will open its doors just for us. But we do need you to commit when you RSVP.

The game starts at 8am. The following game at 11am will be Poland vs. Colombia, which means that if Japan wins or ties in either of its first two games, you'll definitely want to stick around for this consequential game.

Let's fill the place with Japan supporters!

RSVP on the Meetup site.

Japan vs. Senegal @ Fado Irish Pub Sun, Jun 24, 2018, 8:00 AM: Japan is an underdog against all of its opponents in the Group Stage, but the odds for a team victory are best against Senegal, the 2nd of three matches in the group. (Japa
