BABES Network - YWCA
We believe that people living with HIV are uniquely qualified to understand and encourage one another.
Since 1989, we have built a community of support for people living HIV, especially women including transwomen, heteros*xual men, and their families.

Babes support groups have gone virtual! We recognize that it isn't the same as being in the same room, sharing a meal and a hug. We also recognize this may open our groups up to folks who have not been able to attend previously.
As we navigate these uncharted waters we are grateful to have space to share with one another.
Thank you for adapting with us and continuing to support our vibrant community! We miss our Babes terrible and send virtual hugs to you all.

Queen Babe Pat talking sisterhood, long term survival, the importance of education and the power of peer support. We love you Pat!
"In 1989, the trio founded the BABES Network, a support program for women with HIV. The name was born out of a conversation about s*x during which one woman said, “I was a babe before AIDS, and I’m still a babe,” Migliore recalls.
“We adopted the name because it really did signify who we were and what we talked about,” she says. “It was feeling that we were still ourselves, still worthwhile and still worthy of having relationships and care.”
Still a Babe Pat Migliore cofounded two groups for women living with HIV.

Hey Babes Network community,
In accordance with public health officials, and out of deep respect for our community's well being, we are cancelling all support groups for the month of March. We are working on finding an option for remote support gatherings, but in the meantime please call us to chat!
We as a staff are all living with compromised immune systems, so we are working remotely and the office won't be open for walk in services. Please reach out by phone, messenger, text or email though! These times of isolation are so hard, and we are here for you all!
