Did you know these fun facts about Seattle Museums? Let’s start at our most famous one, @seattleartmuseum 🖼️ It opened in 1933 in Volunteer Park, but moved to the current location in 1991. The Hammering Man outside only hammers during working hours.  And right now you can see Monochrome by Alexander Calder and Tara Donovan.

Next is @naamnw Northwest African America Museum in the Central District. Did you know this is the only dedicated African American museum in the region? It’s housed inside the former segregation-era Coleman School, which was built in 1909. Right now you can see the Luther Vandross exhibit and see 6 of his 8 Grammy’s including his 2003 Song of the Year “Dance With My Father.”

In Seattle Chinatown-International District is @winglukemuseum 🖼️ It’s the countries only pan-Asian art and history museum.. They are popular for their connection and exhibit for Bruce Lee, but don’t miss “DISplace” which celebrates regional Native Hawaiian creatives, and “Ten Thousand Things” which explores hidden stories of personal connection between everyday objects and their owners.

How did I learn these things? Through The Discover What Move You Passport Program. It’s a free digital guide celebrating Seattle arts, heritage and science experiences. When you check in at museums and events like these, you earn points and prizes like the grand prize, a $500 gift card towards a participating organization. Don’t miss their upcoming passport event, Prideful Playdate on May 30th at Seattle Children’s Museum.

It’s not too late to participate, sign up and start discovering what moves you.

Waiting through the night for free health care at a Seattle clinic 04/24/2026

We're proud to partner with Seattle/King County Clinic for another year — serving as their media relations team and volunteering on the ground for the 11th annual free healthcare clinic, happening now through Sunday, April 26, at Seattle Center.

Seeing this event land on the front page of The Seattle Times is a powerful reminder of why this work matters. Thousands of community members receive free medical, dental, and vision care, and stories like this help make sure even more people know where to turn.
