While our name is changing, what remains constant is our commitment to families, caregivers, parents and children. At Children’s Home Society of Washington, we aim to offer holistic support and reach our families before they are in crisis, to identify their unique needs and set them up with resources and prevention services to manage life’s challenges at a time when additional support is needed most. Our four core service areas include:
• Early learning: ensuring children have the strongest possible foundation to thrive during a critical period of their development
• Parent & family education: equipping parents with the resources to support their children through every stage, milestone, and challenge
• Behavioral health & counseling: giving parents and children the tools to address behavioral health
challenges, building on each family’s strengths
• Family reunification: offering mentorship and support for parents whose children are temporarily in foster care, so they can move toward nurturing strong, life-long families
This is just a snapshot of the support we provide to families in need. Through the pandemic, we have been nimble in our approach to continue offering support in a virtual capacity, knowing additional resources and care can make the critical difference between “I’m in crisis” and “I am going to be OK.” Because when we start with family, we all succeed. If you missed our Bundles of Love events, you can still visit us at our seven Family Resource Centers around the state. You don't need any appointment and there are no requirements to meet to visit us.
Our FRCs are family-centered ecosystems that uplift community voice through sincere relationships, meaningful connection, and a deep sense of belonging that extends beyond any one space.
