I’ll have these adorable, little cutting board ornaments and much more this Saturday at the Carnation Farms Holiday Market!

Reggie and I are sending these Bastogne slabs off the kiln. They’ve been air drying for about 5 years, and their moisture content is already pretty close to where it needs to be, but it’s always a good idea to get them in a kiln to be sure they’re properly dried. Plus we want to make sure we kill any critters that might be in there. 🐛 There’s no visible evidence bugs in these slabs, but it’s important to do things the right way.

Now here’s a unique use for a live edge slab! I had a customer contact me looking for something nice for his walrus skull. This black walnut cookie came from a tree in Auburn, WA. I finished it just like I would a coffee table. I think the size, shape, and color are a great fit!
