Social Worker, educator, activist, community organizer, and now author. Bayview resident Cherry Johnson has fiercely devoted her life and career to championing the rights of others.

Her recently published book, In the Valley of the Shadow, is a powerful collection of lived experiences from the AIDS pandemic-stories that rarely made headlines yet defined and continue to define an era of fear, loss, resilience, and quiet courage. As of late Monday evening, June 1, Bayview experienced a power outage due to a neighborhood wide service interruption. Seattle City Light is actively working to restore power as quickly as possible.

Whenever an outage occurs, our building’s emergency generator activates immediately, and our team transitions into emergency response mode. We take prompt steps to ensure resident safety, maintain essential services, and confirm that emergency communications remain available throughout the community.

Our team is actively monitoring the situation and working diligently to minimize disruptions while normal operations are restored. We appreciate your patience and support during this time.
