Having Toni’s fi fun doing rudimental work with music theory and technique and then on the spot improvising. Taking risks and succeeding and failing all the while laying the ground to explore some of the written page I created over this last spring and summer. very proud to share some movies that we made with Scribe Studios from 2023? 24.

My First Concert by Oleg Boyko:
Our work in the 2023-2024 season featured two multimedia concerts in two very different venues. Our first performance of 2024 was at the Chapel and featured two guitar concertos for guitar and guitar orchestra that we recorded at St James cathedral, last season 2022-2023. Both concertos were by the Ukrainian composer Oleg Boyko, a composer we have worked particularly close with in an effort for
Seattle Guitar Orchestra to be clear about standing in support of Ukraine as it is fighting for its life against the Russian invasion.
Seattle Guitar Orchestra reached out into the community and were able to feature significant members of our community with Stella Kosim as a soloist in the first of the two concertos, which is titled My First Concert. I am trying to keep this brief, but want to say there is a lot of thought that goes into the programming for the Seattle Guitar Orchestra and how it can feature people in a way that can boost everyone in the community. It was such a pleasure to work with Stella and her student to premier this work in North America and then record it at St James. It was doubly sweet that Stella’s husband, Robert Vierschilling, helped in the orchestra for the premieres and the movies
