This was my first senior session to photograph, and I couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop in Washington Park Arboretum (or a better subject!) It’s official! I’m so excited to share that I signed up for the Birth Becomes You Course to become certified as a birth photographer. Over the next several weeks I’ll be learning what I need to step into this field. And yes, pregnant friends, I’m looking for models.

I love getting Moms in the picture. I wish I had so many more like this of me with my own kids! I tend to gravitate towards the more moody, quiet, or unspoken weight of motherhood, but these moments of pure joy are pretty amazing too.

There are some photos that I love capturing again and again with littles and this is one of them. Every parent recognizes this move. And the thing is, you do hold your kid up to wash hands at the sink all the time, until one day they’re too big, and you never know when that last time will be. Storytelling family photography documents not just what your family looks like, but what it feels like.

I recently had the honor of capturing a friend's first baby moments. Newborns grow up fast, but photographing them never gets old. There's such a small window before they unfurl and start to explore the world.

Recently had a session with a family that I’ve worked with quite a few times now. After taking a bit of a personal hiatus to think about pursuing other things, it really made me think about how much I love this work and am not ready to call it quits. So glad I got this call, and I want to get back into it.

PROOF OF MOM. Mother's Day is only one month away you guys! Whether you get your phone out so she doesn't have to take a bunch of selfies with the kids, or you have a photographer like me come in to really capture all the best moments, get her in those pictures.
