Join us for a workshop with Lily Neill that covers an array of techniques and fun “brain teasers” which can be applied as arrangement tools to help develop a free-flowing style all your own. Using a couple of simple melodies in contrasting time signatures from various music traditions, we’ll explore various ways to use these tools to build arrangements and personalize our interpretations. For a lot of folks, McAlister Guitars are inextricably (and understandably) linked with David Crosby. It’s definitely easy to imagine David vibing on the McAlister instruments we have in the shop now (especially that 12-fret 12-string Concert model) — these guitars are supremely playable, impeccably built, adorned with elegant details, and they sound great. Crosby-philes really owe it to themselves to check these things out…

The WL-S we put out on Tuesday sold in less than an hour, before we had a chance to share any photos, so we’re getting this just-arrived WL-14X Scissortail up before we open the doors today. It’s yet another stunner from our friends in Austin, super-lightweight, with a powerful, balanced voice, beautifully figured maple for the back and sides delivering an oomph nicely compressed by a not-too-stiff, X-braced spruce top. Hoo-boy. Don’t sleep on this one…
