Join YPIN for our monthly happy hour as we enjoy the Seattle summer at Gas Works Park.
This month we’re thrilled to be joined by five women activists from Georgia who are visiting Seattle to learn how activists in the U.S. fight for gender equality. They are exploring how societal gains in gender equality and societal inclusivity as a whole can be made through activism, legislation and practice, and how societal norms can evolve to be more inclusive.
Bring a blanket, beverage, and some sunglasses!

As the world has become increasingly interconnected and interdependent, educators and
students are faced with the challenge of becoming globally competent. What does that mean? Join YPIN and Global Classroom for a casual but important discussion on the role of global education in the American classroom, the diverse opportunities that exist for collaboration between school communities around the world, and how engaged global citizens can make a difference in addressing 21 st century issues.
We will provide some optional readings that illuminate the theme of global education and will introduce some topics that are relevant to this Global Café. If you aren’t able to take a look at them prior to the event, no worries! There is no required preparation for this informal conversation, and we look forward to hearing the individual expertise you already have.
