Recently I spent time with Tareq, immersed in the fine details of divine nature. Their business https://www.trilliumsustainability.com/ has been created to spread awareness of how to live more sustainably in everyday life, to appreciate nature. They offer guided nature walks, personal environmental consultation and much much more.

Lots of recent work but especially enjoying these images I took while teaching a video for conservation workshop with youth interns in Kent, Washington - Springbrook Creek. This restoration site is along a creek one block from Ikea in the industrial area of Kent, interns planted native species and removed blackberry roots. Lost Urban Creeks is an amazing youth program that I've documented many times, but this time I was able to work alongside interns! Helping them combine their knowledge of social media with their new knowledge of restoration to create social media videos for the web. Because the more we share conservation work the more it will be shared and celebrated.

Elif Myers, 's Volunteer Coordinator shares gratitude for her favorite waterway in

"I just recently moved to Seattle, but I've bee lucky to explore many bodies of water within the Puget Sound watershed. Currently, Longfellow Creek is my favorite area to visit. It's filled with trash and pollutants, and certainly isn't the most beautiful body of water in the region. However, the presence of beavers and salmon make it exciting and I think this creek has the potential to be a healthy habitat accessible for city residents once it receives proper regulation and care."

'Against the Current' Protecting clean water in Puget Sound. A teaser for a short documentary I created with Puget Soundkeeper Alliance On this day in 1972 The Clean Water Act was instated by the American Government to stop pollution from entering all waterways, rivers, creeks, oceans....Are we doing enough? How can we support communities keeping our waterways clean? How do we hold industrial corporations responsible for ethical disposal of their waste? How can green infrastructure prevent toxic runoff? Stay tuned for screening opportunities in Seattle and a digital release of the film!

For the last year I've been visiting sustainable forests in Washington and Oregon documenting the responsible harvesting of lumber for Portland Airport's new lattice roof. Here are a few images from the first trip back in early 2021. Pictured are images from Skokomish Forest near Hood Canal on the Olympic Peninsula. Forester Jaal gazing up near a marked Douglas Fir, Skokomish Archeologist holding mountain blueberries, Feller operator Forrest standing on his rig and an old growth Doug Fir standing tall.
