✨STUDENT SPOTLIGHT✨ Meet Alena!
“I started dancing hula at 8 years old and now at my big old age of 39 am overjoyed to still be part of the Polynesian dance community. I’ve been dancing/drumming with TFOT off and on for over ten years and am so honored to be a part of the 20th anniversary showcase. Ori means so much to me and I’m so grateful for the friendships and community TFOT embodies. This year’s showcase will be one for the books!”

✨STUDENT SPOTLIGHT✨ Meet Liz, one of our students dancing in this year’s showcase!
“Liz grew up in Nu’uanu, Hawai’i and started dancing hula at age 4. Wherever she has lived, she has found a way to keep dancing and celebrating Polynesian culture. She joined Te Fare o Tamatoa after moving to Seattle for medical school, and this will be her 3rd showcase. Being part of TFOT is more than growing and refining her Ori skills; it is a warm and welcoming community and a way she can stay connected to her home culture. Don’t miss this year’s showcase to celebrate the magic of Polynesia here in the PNW!”
