Sharing the touching success story of Diane and Ellyn, who travelled with us to Kenya in February.
These two were immediately inspired to support the school and rescue center and decided to initiate a fundraiser themselves when they heard updates about how GRACE Nanana was facing additional challenges due to the pandemic. Thanks to their efforts in getting the word out to friends and family, they have surpassed their initial goal of $5,000. All funds raised will be sent directly to GRACE to help bridge their $20k gap in funding. Maasai girls, like Sarah, Rhoda, & Neema, are studying hard because they have big goals. In their words, they’re great at subjects like math and reading and they plan to become teachers and lawyers someday.
On this International Women’s Day, we’re partnering with GRACE Nanana Maasai Girls School & Rescue Centre to raise funding needed to ensure these academic young women can stay in primary school and receive scholarships to continue on the secondary.

Today is International Day of the Girl Child, and we celebrate GRACE Nanana at HELGA in Kenya, where girls are rescued from early marriage and motherhood, violence, and female ge***al mutilation.
With equal access to education, girls truly have the ability to change the world.
Globally, if all girls received a primary education, 1.7 million children would be rescued from poverty-induced malnutrition. In addition, if all girls worldwide received a secondary education, 12.2 million children could avoid malnutrition and stunted growth.
Investing in girls is not only the right thing to do, it’s the wise thing to do.

We are grateful for Brother Frank’s visit to Seattle (on his birthday no less!) to share the story of Ruben Centre near Nairobi, Kenya. He’s served as the center’s director for nearly a decade and helped to establish a strong group of leaders who will carry on the culture and strategy long after he departs. Thank you for sharing details and updates about the R.I.S.E. Program, which adds color and wonder to the primary school curriculum with art, dance, music, and more. The Brighton Jones Richer Life Foundation and our community are so proud to be partnering with the wonderful people at Ruben!

Today is International Literacy Day, and we are so happy to be celebrating with on Thursday, September 26 in San Francisco, CA.
Literacy is something we too often take for granted. Were it not for a family or community’s support, access to books and patient teachers, not one of us would have the skill set to read and comprehend. Literacy is a critical building block to everything: from creativity and fantasy, to science, math, history, social justice, and human rights.
