Many Seattle Parks and Recreation facilities and programs will be closed Thursday, June 4, 2026, due to a Recreation Division staff training day.

Most indoor facilities will be closed, while parks, sprayparks, golf courses, Mounger pool, and select swim beaches will remain open.

Join us for the Olmstead Legacy Tours to learn how the Olmstead Brothers shaped and designed the parks system we all love today! Guides from the “Friends of Seattle’s Olmsted Parks” will introduce and lead you on short walks through Seward Park, Washington Park Arboretum, and Volunteer Park. Walks will be on a variety of surfaces, including lawn and gravel paths.

Fades of the Future is an 8-week barber apprentice training program developed to introduce high school aged students to the trade of barbering. Students will gain practical experience in personal appearance and hygiene, sanitation, clipper variations, razor and scissor cutting, hair textures, and design.
