BOXWOOD [an integrated design studio] Collaborative. Creative. Assiduous.

The design inspiration for each of our projects originates from the dynamic interplay between clients and designers, merging needs and desires with poetic thinking to arrive at innovative solutions. Boxwood gives primacy to a process that results in the creative spark, as well as the tools that support that endeavor.

An assignment to celebrate Conde Valdemar’s bio-diversity program was the inspiration for this package refresh. We created bold graphic flowers representing 3 of the more than 30 species of flora found in their vineyards.

Coined as the new "Gateway to the Valley", the Mt. Baker aerial light rail station is now a catalyst for new commercial, retail, and residential development in the Rainier Valley area of Seattle. The design recognizes the station as civic architecture that is a prominent fixture in the community through the implementation of public art, park-like gathering places, and pedestrian amenities. The dynamic play between light and heavy materials reinforces the intrinsic energy created by the transportation hub.

We began our collaboration with with their inaugural 2010 vintage. They have treated BOXWOOD like a partner in their decade long story and we could not have asked for more exceptional and engaged teammates. To celebrate their 10th vintage we stripped-down the label allowing the 6 vine cuttings, an outsized number 10 and the four original fanciful names: Sestina, Arnaut, Gravura and Oliane, to carry the package.
