I'm at the Port Townsend Writers' Conference this week until Sunday, my second year in a row, and a MUCH needed break from unpacking and everything involved in restoring/rebuilding my life. I plan to start a new piece about my recent experience with homelessness. These are my digs for the week, and I bought the meal plan, so full room and board!

I went to today looking for tools so that I can finally put up shelves to clear this move-in mess.The vinyl LPs are right next to the elevator and this trip down memory lane, one of my all-time favorites from my teens, was sitting right in front within reach daring me not to buy her. Only $0.99. Less than 20 minutes later, I was listening to it at home and I'm delighted to report that THIS one exceeded expectations and was even better than I remembered.
I just made a risky comment on a thread about Maher's interview with Spacey that may get me kicked off the group, if not FB entirely. So get my digits now if you want to keep in touch, because I may be in FB jail in a few minutes, but I think the whole thing is too muddy to believe anyone's version of the story.

I was recently displaced due to an apartment fire and spent four months alternating between the streets and cheap hotels. I finally got an apartment and moved in on May 1, 2026. I lost everything but the clothes on my back and am having to replace everything from clothes to kitchenware, furniture to toiletries. It's exhausting, daunting, and expensive! I went to a networking event on Wednesday and ran into Jordan Kerbs who managed my brother's coffee shop for several years. I only knew her peripherally until now, so it was lovely to get to know her better. And it turns out we're both represented by Melissa Baldauf at Big Fish NW

So this just happened. I got this beautiful piano for free off of . All I had to pay was the minimal cost to move it. It's not been tuned in over 40 years, but that's an easy fix! Thank you, Lisa McDonald, for this lovely gift!
