Can you believe it’s August already? We’re a day behind, but here is staff member Budgie’s AUGUST BOOK OF THE MONTH. Budgie writes:

“What do you do when your grade school daughter is changed into a werewolf? You get her into the best school for supernatural kids, move cross country, and get involved in the PTA to try to give her the best shot at a good life. And what do you do when strange magical things start happening and people start to claim that your daughter is a portent for the apocalypse? You do everything you can to prove them wrong and learn who your real friends are in the process.”

Welcome to the inaugural edition of Budgie’s Book of the Month! In honor of Disability Pride Month, Budgie recommends “The Oracle Code,” a graphic novel by Marieke Nijkamp. Budgie says: “Barbara ‘Babs’ Gordon, daughter of Police Commissioner Gordon, was paralyzed after being shot during a robbery. She was sent to recover at The Arkham Center for Independence, but all is not as it seems. Babs must learn how to navigate her new life in a wheelchair while rebuilding her sense of self and working to figure out why children at Arkham Center are going missing.”
