✨ Celebrating 15 Beautiful Years of Music, Hope & Community — A Walk Down Memory Lane

ICFC Launch, 2011

Did you know our very first benefit concert took place aboard the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier in San Diego? Talk about an inaugural moment. Nearly 1,000 guests joined us on the flight deck for an unforgettable night of music featuring the extraordinary artistry of Dave Koz, Mindi Abair, Jeff Kashiwa, Steve Cole, Greg Karukas, Richard Smith, Kim Waters, and others.

The view over San Diego Bay was a spectacular setting — and the music had everyone on their feet, dancing and smiling. It was an ambitious beginning, and it left our small but mighty team feeling like we could present a benefit concert just about anywhere.

Our inaugural event supported cancer survivorship support services for Scripps Health in San Diego — a meaningful beginning to the mission that continues to guide us today.

✨ Were you with us for our very first show? We’d love to hear your memories!

Cancer vaccine innovation is gaining remarkable momentum, its a hopeful glimpse into the future of cancer care.

mRNA therapies — once considered futuristic — are now on the brink of becoming part of standard cancer treatment. It’s a remarkable sign of how quickly science is moving and how much hope is on the horizon.

We’re so proud to support Dr. Nora Disis and her team at the Cancer Vaccine Institute - University of Washington as they push this field forward and work to deliver life‑changing therapies to patients.

The US National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the Foundation for the National Institute of Health have partnered to raise almost $200 million to fund cancer vaccine clinical trials. This push for funding includes mRNA-based approaches for patients at high risk for tumor recurrence.

In a recent article from The Lancet Oncology, Dr. Nora Disis, Director of the Cancer Vaccine Institute (CVI), called this initiative a promising start, but emphasized the importance of building sustainable infrastructure.

“My hope is that this initiative marks the beginning of sustained federal support to finally bring cancer vaccines into routine clinical care,” Dr. Disis said.
